OK so first of all, I firmly believe in sharing thoughts or cool moments in life big or small with others. you never know who it will inspire and who needs to hear it that day, so share away!!
Something I’ve been thinking a lot about lately is “time” as I wind up my first year of school out in BC. I can’t believe how fast it went by. How many of you have had conversations or heard your parents/grandparents say how fast life flies by?! I guarentee 100% of you reading this have heard this and if you’re like 20 under or maybe even a bit older…you haven’t felt the weight of it. We just hear it and brush it off like okaaayyyy grandma haha. As I get older, the more I realize how true this statement is and how my grandparents just want me to be present in every moment because all we truly have is now. If you’re anything like me, I often times live in my future and past instead of being fully present where I am right here, right now. I think that the society we have grown up in doesn’t help either because its always screaming bigger, better, more – we’re never fully satisfied..we’re always looking for the next best thing and things get old really fast. Time passes right before our eyes.
Something that I’ve learned a lot this year is to slow my life down and savour the moments and to make the very best of the moment I’m in, because right now was once my future and before I know it, it will be my past. How do I want to spend my moments? Do I want to keep on wishing for more and reminiscing the past or make the best of whats going on around me. I know that God’s plan is so so great for each of our lives and if only we fully embraced the time that he has us in right now…what blessings we would feel!

after reading this I thought how sad and terrible that we live in a way that we wish for each day to pass so quickly. We rarely look at our weeks with excitement and contentment with where we’re at. Am I choosing to make each day an adventure?! How much life do we let pass by because were always so focused on whats next. I think perspective and attitude plays the most important role in this. Learning to change the way we think and see our circumstances with grateful hearts and full joy in all moments and even in tough circumstances. I know for me in my greatest trials have stretched and challenged me in crazy ways that I’m now so so thankful for.
As I’m getting ready to go back home to Calgary for the summer, I feel myself starting to get sad leaving my community, church, and life here in BC while also excited at the same time to see family and my hometown. Two months ago I was wishing for summer and Calgary. I spent a week or two wishing I was home in Calgary and now I’m sad to leave BC. Instead of savouring my time and the gift of today, I was hoping for something else. I think everyone could think of one or two of these moments the have happened in your life. As I spend my last week here in BC before I head back to Calgary for the summer, I’m choosing to be fully present in the moments. Once I get to Calgary, I’m going to choose to be fully present. Once I get back to BC at the beginning of September, I’m going o choose to be fully present. It’s a choice on how we view the days and moments of our lives. choose well.

okay so it’s easter weekend right now – there is something so special about easter weekend that puts everything back into perspective. It’s in the spring and spring always reminds me of fresh, new life. The buds are blooming, the grass is turning green, and the sun shines brighter. Living in Canada, we get pretty cold and long winters so as soon as spring finally rolls around, everyone is 100X happier. Similar to the whole easter story – the reason for my faith. Jesus. He brings us fresh new life. He brings spring after long winters. He gives us hope and a future. He gives us peace, comfort, and protects. He offers salvation to those who choose – he doesn’t force. Because he loves us, he gives his children free will to choose whether they want to follow him or not. He knows whats best for us and he can only hope that his children will choose to follow him because he has an abundant life to offer them.

Having grown up in a christian home, easter was always something we celebrated and I knew about Jesus and what he did for us. But as a child I couldn’t fully comprehend – and still i’ll never be able to fully comprehend what he went through. but as I get older and my faith grows deeper, the more I feel and emotional I get towards what Jesus did for me, for you, for us. I think because I have my own faith now and have experienced Jesus and have a personal relationship with him. He has changed my life completely, he is my past, present, future. He’s behind me and goes before me. You too.

West village cafe: Ok I love love love this cafe! It’s a new cafe that opened a bit ago only a few minutes away from my house. I’m always looking for new coffee shops to check out and study at! I love the vibe at this one – the decor is so well done and there is so much natural light which I’m always a fan of! It makes it a lot easier to stay awake when I’m studying 😉 hehe. It has those California vibes which I always love.

• lavender fogs are my new favorite! I 100% recommend them

It’s turning into spring and there are flowers and blooms everywhere you look in bc! It’s so beautiful and I can’t get enough! It’s still raining like there is no tomorrow so any bit of sunshine I’m so so grateful for. The sun decided to show for a bit today so I was real excited haha.

I love love love adventures because you get to spend time with cool people, have good conversations, be in nature, get fresh air, usually excercise a bit, use your camera, and make fun little videos – there’s nothing better!
I used to use my parents old canon but recently I just bought my own and I’m super excited because there is video on it so I can make more videos haha. But I’m trying to challenge myself to use my camera more instead of reaching to grab my iPhone which is so much easier. Dslr skills is a lost art as it’s easier to just snap a photo on our iPhones. But so much more worth it with a dslr!! And anyone can learn how to take cool photos on a camera, you don’t need to be a special kind of person. Yes some people are natural at it but it doesn’t mean you can’t learn!
Coffee is essential to adventure days 😋 who am I kidding…every day haha cafe crema in west Vancouver was delish!! I got an almond milk americano misto w/ hazelnut 😍 also cool because they serve Phil and Sebastian…a coffee company that started in Calgary! Support local right? Ha
